Porcelain course
Have you already participated in a pottery course and would now like to try throwing porcelain? Porcelain is a little more challenging than clay, but its smooth feel makes it particularly pleasant to work with. We will strive to throw precisely in order to make the wall as thin as possible when turning, so that it becomes translucent after firing! We will also learn the “off the hump” technique, in which we throw several smaller shapes from a large amount of porcelain.
This course is aimed at participants who have already completed a basic course. In the first lesson (3 hours) we will throw, in the second (3 hours) we will trim. Three of the objects you make will be fired. The focus of the course is on learning or improving your technique with porcelain, working on shapes, or supporting you to realize a project you have in mind. I will help with design, functionality, and technique. There is also the option of working with colored porcelain.
The price is per person for two three-hour lessons, included bisque and glaze firing (transparent glazed).
Number of participants: 2 people (price per person)
Duration: 2 times each 3 hours (total 6 hours) on workdays 6-9pm or weekends
Teacher: Lilly Haas (German/English)
